Vikings rookie CB Cedric Griffin is now a starter.
Minnesota is intrigued by Griffin’s aggressive style enough to bench Fred Smoot. A second-round pick from Texas, Griffin’s size and physicality are considered perfect fits for defensive coordinator Mike Tomlin’s Tampa 2. Griffin has a chance to make Smoot expendable in 2007.
The Vikings do need some help in the secondary so giving rookie Cedric Griffin a chance could be a good move.
