Falcons claimed fullback Corey McIntyre off waivers from the Saints and released reserve defensive back Cam Newton.
McIntyre may play special teams and back up Justin Griffith during what projects to be a short stay on Atlanta’s active roster. Newton became expendable when Lance Schulters picked up the defense.
McIntyre recently played in the NFL Europe.
